My first encounter with DMT... Still current...

First off I just wanted to say Ive been a lurker on this forum for a little while. ive always found this place very helpful and full of great reads and cool avatars :). Im a little bummed about my current situation though. If anyone could share some advice or knowledge I would greatly appreciate it!

Ok so SWIM received 300mg of DMT today. A light bulb pipe was made for it. SWIM put 50mg in and tried to smoke it. SWIM definitely took it in and coughed their brains out. But nothing really happened. Swim tried and tried but the effects were minimal if that.

So SWIM decided to take it orally. 50mg was weighed and taken orally not too long ago. No effects have been reported yet. Also, Swim noticed that people were taking MAOIs with the DMT dosage. Swim did not have any to take. Will this effect the trip heavily?

While waiting for something if anything to happen. Swim noticed a lot of white spots forming on the light bulb. An image was taken. Are those spots DMT?

Also, the source for this is 100%. So Im very confident it is what it is.

Any answers or tips would be greatly appeciated. Swim wanted to travel the cosmos. :\
 
From the looks of the light bulb, the DMT never completely melted. Are you sure you got smoke to breathe in? When I exhale, I can still see the smoke in my breath kind of like with a cigarette.

DMT is not active orally except in extremely large doses unless combined with an MAOI.

There was smoke similar to a cigarette that came out. I just reread some tips here and am going to give it another shot.

Lightbulb are not too good. When it melts, the liquid rolls around looking for a cooler place to settle and you have to chase it round with a lighter. You never get an efficient hit with this method. You will have more sucess with a home made bong, sandwiching the spice between an inert herb.

You wont feel anything from 50mg of oral unless you take a maoi also im affraid. Make a bong or get some moai's if your gonna take it orally.
 
What a bummer. I feel like there was a barrier I had to break down to get where I wanted to be.
 
Good news! SWIM was able to crack the light bulb safely and scrap the findings onto some foil for a substantial amount that was left. SWIM is going to try the bong method.

SWIM has some quick questions just so SWIM doesnt mess this up again and lose what Ive been waiting to try for so long.

A bong is being acquired for this journey. Swims understanding is that if you sandwich peppermint leaves| DMT | peppermint leaves, you do not need the steel wool. Yes?

Also, if that is the case, what is considered the appropriate distance for the lighter to be from the leaves in order for the DMT to melt and vaporize properly?
