Strassman came up with the theory, or at least elaborated upon it.

I thought this theory had been proven, but upon further research it seems that the pineal gland is just fully developed on the 49th day, and that's when it begins to function.

My problem is that alot of the info I've found concerning this seems lack specificity. Some say the gender of the fetus is also made apparent on the 49th day, but then I found information suggesting that the penis begin development on the 42nd day, the same day the toes begin to develop.

All the sources I checked out seemed to confirm that the 49th day is constantly observed to be the day the pineal gland is fully formed, which many believe supports the theory that on the 49th day you are reincarnated.

Strassman theorized that DMT causes the entrance and release of the spirit from the body, or at least indicates such an event.

I haven't been able to determine whether any hormone secretion has actually been proven to happen on the 49th day with the development of the pineal gland.

If anyone could site some legitimate scientific research that proves the release of dmt or melatonin on the 49th day, that'd be great.
