mycelium tea...

Migrated topic.

I Eat Plant Magic
Hey guys. The contamination gods have cursed me again, on of my trays got contaminated on the surface with something that looks like penicillin and refuses to go away.

So I was thinking of scraping off the contaminant (again) and making mycelium tea from it, to salvage at least some magic from it. Do you guys know much about dosage when it comes to this? Roughly? I have probably a quart of mycelium, I've heard the tea isn't terribly potent so I was thinking perhaps dividing it into two or three strong doses. Thoughts?

Don't bother. Throw the whole thing out. It will taste nasty with minimal effects. Besides, just the idea of thinking that you might be poisoned is enough to ruin a trip. I said it, so if you didn't know, now you do. Contaminated cakes are really nothing to play with, especially if you can't identify the contaminant.

If you really want to do something with it, cut off as much contamination as you can, with one inch margins, treat it like cancer. Then spray the whole thing with H2O2, and then you can put it back into fruiting or bury it outside in some regular potting soil. No matter what, it is a gamble. I would only bother if it were a large 1qt+ cake, anything smaller isn't worth saving unless you have a bunch of them.

I have wanted to try this also but I don't like the idea of the verm being part of the tea. I would like to hear about it when you try it.

Yeah, I made tea from a LOT of mycelium, drank it all (for the sake of science, damon) and didn't feel anything. Ah, well....
