NaOH Replacement

Hello nexus!


I have read a few posts on here concerning swapping NaOH out with a substance called d-Limone or something along those lines. I have a few questions for the people who prefer to use it over NaOH.

One is, does it work just as good? Do you get as high of a yield and is the product just as good? Or perhaps the product comes out slightly different? Maybe the yellow gooey stuff instead of the white powdery stuff?

Another is, can this stuff be bought locally like NAoH can at your local hardware store?

The last question is, could you continue performing extractions the exact way you did with NAoH, just replace NAoH with the same amount of that stuff?

D Limonene is a solvent made from citrus fruits while NaOH is as you know is a base. They are NOT interchangeable. D Limo is a replacement for Naptha/xylene etc not for a base.

However you can use D Limo in an extraction that doesn't use NaOH, Please check out the extractions page on the Wiki

I think it's Lime that you're wanting to replace the NaOH with. Amor Fati wrote up a great tek for using non-toxic chems. SWIM plans on trying it as soon as she has used up her others.

Yea...D-limonene is a replacement for Naphtha, and calcium hydroxide(lime) would be a NaOH replacement...Here is a tek using lime and naphtha Q21Q21 Vinegar + Lime A/B/A (xylene/limonene) and A/B (naptha) Teks - A/B - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus
