Naphtha + Xylene = ?

Migrated topic.

so Swim's friend without asking added Xylene to the Naphtha saying that it will work just the same for doing pulls... does anyone have any other information on this. I don't want to take his word on this and would like a more credible opinion. I understand that they're both Polar solvents and can be used as an either or but when combined what does SWIM get. Does combining the two make a new Chemical and how does this affect the Pulling process...?

I don't know what the safety of combining two solvents is. why not just stick to procedure and pull with both seperately?

Xylene will pull all your jungle spice(other alkaloids) so be sure to get everything you want with the naptha first.

Don't think you can freeze precip xylene either...so that's another problem

xylene is more polar than naphtha, meaning this mix of solvents will pull more than just pure dmt, it will pull the so-called jungle spice (mostly dmt, some plant oils and very small amount of a secondary alkaloid). Also what will happen is that you wont be able to freeze precipitate your solvent, because dmt is too soluble in it even at freeze temperatures. So you're gonna have to either evap it all and pull with small amounts of naphtha if you want pure dmt, or you can also salt out your dmt from the solvent for a product you could consume orally..

Thanks for the input.

does anyone have a link to a tech on converting it into a salt...?

neither xylene nor naptha are actually polar, but the aromatics have a slightly more polar character than the aliphatics due to electron localization ("resonance" ). mixing them creates a miscible binary solvent mixture. in actuality, alkaloids like mescaline, dmt, and psilocin are more soluble in the aromatics because the solvent accessibility of those compounds is focused on their ring structures. like dissolves like.

I recently did an extraction of 100g of powdered mhrb and did hot pulls with 300ml 50/50 xylene and vm&p naptha..
What i drew off looked like weak tea...Put in freezer and waited, initial cloudiness then nothing..I left it and looked occasionally and after a week forgot about it...month later it was clear and i assumed it was fine particles that had eventually settled so I poured off most of the solvent and evaporated in the flat pyrex...ended up with 500mg of very hard crayon...Definitely DMT but a somewhat different trip...darker, trickier and at one point the furniture in my room looked Flintstonish and the body load was about the same but I had a little nausea ...I may try more of it soon..

I understand that they're both Polar solvents

i think benzyme already moderately corrected this, but they're both NON-polar solvents.

for reference, swim always pulls with naptha first as it doesn't pull ALL the alkaloids in mhrb, doing about 3-4 naptha pulls. whenever he has "exhausted" his bark, he then adds the same amount of xylene to the mixture. as there is no way of getting all the naptha out, this means he is always adding xylene to naptha.

in another words, go ahead and add xylene, but pull with naptha lots first since you CAN freeze precip with naptha. but not with xylene.

also to note, you have to let xylene naturally evaporate, xylene is toxic. do it in a well ventilated area (garage with windows open where you wont be for a long time) NOT your closet! it takes a LONG time to evap (although not as long as d-limo)

but no, if you mix xylene and naptha its not going to create some super chemical that will eat through your glass (hopefully) containers.

this is all rumors and speculation, please correct me if i'm wrong in any way shape or form

So all seemed to go well, I was left with some yellow oil after evap, so I added some more naphtha and am freezing it right now...

got some nice snowflakes coming along and also i had some left over crystals form on my pyrex over the next night so i tested it out and all was good... real good:surprised

year long pull of Naphtha and Xylene turned out to be super successful
