Need help with limonene STB

SWIM did his second STB extraction over the last couple of days. This time he used limonene as the extracting solvent. He has evaporated off almost all the limonene, but the deem is not solidifying. It is laying in a orangy-yellow puddle at the bottom. SWIM is afraid it might not solidify at all.

Has anybody here done a STB and used limonene as the solvent, and did you run into this problem?
 
Haven't done one yet, but I am preparing. From what I read, Limonene doesn't evap entirely. I believe you are supposed to flush the spice out with vinegar or FASW. When in doubt, check the wiki.
 
Check the wiki. Orange/yellow waxy stuff that doesn't solidify tends to be dmt n-oxide...how long did swim have their mimosa? Although, check the wiki as it may not be that.

That's my thoughts. Even my more pure limonene leaves a residue, even with minimal amounts. It can be a real bitch too.

It's not waxy, it's like honey. I'll check the wiki though.
 
yea your gonna have a problem with that...

here is another solution

get some acetone...put it on the honey goo...get as much as you can to absorb into the acetone..and then use some FASA to drop out the alkies...freebase again and then pull with acetone again(or IPA)

this should result in a much more solid material
 
I'm just gonna take all the honey goo and mix it with vinegar, then I;m gonna siphon off the vinegar, basify it and pull with naptha. I might still extract the jungle with toluene if I feel up to it.
 
the one thing about that idea is that any residual d-limo will get mixed with the naptha...unless you somehow filter out the d-limo..

or if you want to not use petrochemicals as it seems to beat the purpouse, why not pulling from the limonene with vinegar, evap vinegar to get sticky acetate, basify with sodium carbonate and then pull with IPA? or then pull the freebase from the vinegar basifying with minimal amount of limonene, and then infuse some herbs with it (or redissolve in alcohol and then infuse some herbs, and in this way you give even more opportunity for remains of limonene to evaporate more) ?
 
is there a stb using calcium hydroxide,limonene and vinegar? like with the mesc extraction? SWIM can't get Fumaric acid where he is. A link to the tek would be great
