Hi olympus mon and thanks for your reply.Yes since further reading I can see that 12g is a high dose and would have been too much, but I decided to follow the recipe on Erowid (Erowid Ayahuasca Vault : Ayahuasca Preparation: B. caapi & M. hostilis) which said "This recipe was gathered from various recipes on the Ayahuasca Forum, and was posted there for scrutiny before appearing in this format" so I assumed this was ok. However I will definitely use less next time just in case, so thanks for clarifying that.So for detail, we used whole Mimosa root bark which we but in the blender with a small amount of warm water to break it up, and the Caapi came in shredded form so it went straight into the pan. We were careful not to boil too hot, and it was stirred every 15 mins. We used the t-shirt method to filter after each simmer which seemed to work well.We were left with approx 600ml of each which we felt was probably enough for 2 cups per person (150ml per person per cup) so we didn't feel it needed reducing. We left it to cool and consumed the Mimosa 15 minutes after the Caapi.Only other things to mention is whilst we fasted for the day (about 12 hours) we did have a big meal the previous evening (takeaway pizza), whereas I hear you should abstain from fatty foods. Could this be enough to stop the effects? Thanks
