Swim just ordered 1 kilo of powdered bark. It arrived earlier today. SWIM will be using the lazyman tek, as it looks the easiest and SWIM is partially retarded when it comes to those things. SWIM can't wait to try out the elf spice, however he has a few questions:

Equipment: 5 Litre ceramic mixing bowl, Potato masher, 2000 ml measuring cup, Large flat glass baking pan, Fan, VM&P Naphtha; hardware store, NaOH sodium hydroxide; online auction, often listed as Red Devil Lye.

Swim has everything except the VM&P Naphtha and the NaoH.


1)Would swim need anymore bottles that the tek doesn't state?
2)How would one dispose of any unneeded contents, leftover gunk safely?
3)What safety precautions you would advise SWIM to take during the extraction?
4)What are some of your tips for SWIM's first extraction, anything else I might need, etc.?

Well you can flush your Water/Bark/Lye solution down the toilet. Lye is used for a heavy duty pipe cleaner. So I think that would be the safest way to dispose of the lye. Thats what Swim did when he did an extraction.

Are you doing a freeze precipitation in this tek. If so you can just save the naptha by pouring it into another jar and then evaporating the naptha down some more and try another freeze precipitation or just evaporate it all and maybe have some crystals left. That way you do not have to dispose of the naptha really.

I always keep a few 1/2 pint mason jars around for moving/holding solvent.

An extra milk jug or two might be helpful.
