I'm trying to find non-soapy ammonia for a Syrian Rue extraction (at least that's legal in the states).
First, how does one know if ammonia is soapy? Is it by the formation of suds when the bottle is shaken? I've searched several stores in the area (Wal-Mart, Lowes Hardware) but their clear ammonias form bubbles when shaken that stay in that form for a while. The only janitorial supply store in the area doesn't sell ammonia at all. I know Ace Hardware sells the right kind, but the nearest one is 30 miles from here.
Is this something I can buy online (couldn't find anywhere immediately) or do I pretty much have to make the 30-mile drive?
