Hi Folks,
Thanks for letting me join, and thanks for doing what you do!
I'm not a stranger to psychedelics, having dabbled quite a bit in my 20s with magic mushrooms and MDMA and ketamine. I work in a creative industry, and I believe my creativity has been enhanced throughout my life, just from those experiences in my 20s.
Three years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer; it's been extremely tough. I haven't had the attitude like most who say 'F$%# you cancer', but I feel like cancer has been my teacher; I've grown immensely from the experience and am a better person for it, currently living my best life.
I've felt increasingly drawn to having another psychedelic experience over the last few years. I've been reading through this site and am ready to get into this, and I will be prepared to start soon. I'm a total noob at all this, but from what I've read, it sounds easy enough; we shall see.
I plan to try Acacia Acuminata. I'll report back with how it goes.

Can I ask a question here? Do people have these experiences alone, or do you need someone watching you? Also, if there is a hangover, can you do this during the day and see your family after without looking spaced out or off?

Thanks again; I'm looking forward to this new adventure.

I'm very sorry to hear about your cancer but I admire your perspective on it. It sounds like now could be a more valuable time for a psychedelic experience than ever, if you feel the time is right.

Generally, people will do DMT alone. You aren't in need of a trip-sitter for the same reason that you would need one for other substances, meaning you won't be getting up and moving around or possibly going into multi-hour episodes of paranoia, etc. The only reason I would recommend having somebody accompany you is to take your device of choice you use to smoke the DMT away from you, in case you take a big hit and drop it or burn yourself somehow, but it's not a big concern if you're cautious and pay attention to your dose.

You could do this during the day and twenty minutes later be completely sober, technically. But if you have a very profound or dramatic experience you might want at least a few hours to yourself before having to socialize, so it's a good idea to have a clear schedule before you embark on a journey. Best of luck!!

Thank you, and thanks so much for your reply! Yes, the time feels right; I feel so drawn to this 😁
I was thinking about that very situation and was thinking if doing it alone to use a vape, so I guess that will make it safe.
Thanks again for the tips!

i guess changa or crystal like dmt is short-acting ,unlike soup is brewed combining with mao-i

wondering u live in australia
Yes I do, Acacia Acuminata is easy to get here, I found this and plan to follow it for my first try.
I'm currently on antidepressants (Low dose of sertraline). I read somewhere here that Changa was not for people on antidepressants. Hopefully, I can get my cancer into remission and get off the antidepressants, as I love the idea of trying Changa.

Since sertraline is an SSRI, it will likely diminish or negate completely the effects of pure DMT just as it would with changa. It's not physically dangerous (with DMT), so you could still try, but you will probably need a higher dose.

I'd still recommend beginning at a low dose and working your way up, but I wouldn't be surprised if you had a difficult time achieving results. It varies from person to person though.

Thanks, that’s good to know, I’ll take it easy, it’s more of a push for me to get off anti depressants!
When you take a hit from say from a small amount, do you have to wait some time before doing it again with slightly more or does it matter?

Thank you!

Hi, great to have you here - here's a bit of important reading re harmalas and sertraline (amongst other things):

The total dose in a typical changa hit is lower than that required for oral DMT activation, making the relative risk lower but not necessarily abolishing it completely. If, under medical guidance, you can taper safely off the sertraline beforehand that would be preferable. [Not medical advice, please check with a professional!]
