Noobian to extracts a few questions to clear things up

Migrated topic.
First post on this board. Confused about the precipitation method. Read that one should not let the solution warm up when one pours cold freezer solution through coffee filter. When coffee filter dries wouldn't filter need to be outside freezer to dry?? Mr Barnaby Jones Jr the 3rd has a pan with solution in freezer. Mr Jones does not know whether Mr Jones should pour solution through filter and set outside freezer to dry or leave in freezer?
A little background on how Mr. Jones ended up at his situation. Mr Jones made a batch. That batch came out very sticky, boogery, yuky. Looked at material under microscope and saw undesirable objects. Mr Jones read every tek possible and took gunk and added naptha then froze solution. Mr. Jones may have added too much naptha. Can see snowglobes but melts when outside freezer.
Mr Jones took 2 pours off gunk that stuck to bottom of glass wear. the little pan had elf stuff in it but not very much at all. That little pan was removed from freezer and evaped. The little pan was from the second pour of naptha from recrystallizing the goop.
Mr. Jones has the first bigger pyrex dish with the bulk of solution still in freezer. Mr Jones is happy to report there are snowglobes in it.
Mr Jones wants to know how to correctly rid of naptha and get back to the elf's gifts at the bottom.
All this talk about keeping it cold and evaping at same time confuses Mr. Jones a bit.

When Mr Jones pours naptha through coffee filter does filter go outside freezer to dry?

Mr Jones can evap the solution in pan to recover some less pure elf gift?

Would elf gifts absorb into coffee filter? Would Mr. Jones put filter in glass pan or something like a plate to dry?

Any clarification would be much help for Mr. Jones. He has read many teks and forums but is left a little confused still.

Mr. Jones would like to thank for help.

if SWIY feels he used too much naphtha, evap some outside, and when there is only a bit left, put it in the freezer. Wait a whole day, and then either:

1-quickly take the container out of the freezer, and while the cold naphtha is still inside the container, scrape the sides and bottom with some knife/razor/something (careful with not splashing stuff) so that the crystals start floating.. then pour through coffee filter. Ideal is to make some improvised vacuum suction with a funnel, a hdpe container (like milk jug), and a vacuum cleaner (if interested I see if I find a post I made sometime about it). Anyways, filter the crystals till dry.

It does happen sometimes that if its not filtered with vacuum, some dmt melts into the filter as the naphtha warms up, so vacuum filtering is recommended.

or:

2- remove container from freezer, pour naphtha off quickly (can be through coffee filter just to make sure, but most dmt will be stuck to the sides and bottom of the container), then put the container upside down, resting at an angle, so that any remaining naphtha will drop out, and also that there is space for air to come in. Put a fan next to it so that there can be great air circulation.

different people have different preferences, find out what works for SWIY. Just remember to work in a way that nothing falls down/spills, because then you can always save the actives even if something goes wrong.
