nootropic advice wanted.

Migrated topic.

Rising Star
So recently I've been researching some nootropics and have decided to start using some. I've read great reviews for both noopept and piracetam and I'm torn. To eliminate my need to decide.... I was thinking of stacking them to maximize cognitive and creative effects... If anyone has stacked these two I'd love to hear the experiences!

Piracetam and Choline is said to be a good stack.

There are plenty of threads about this combination on the web.

Add Galantamine and Alpha GPC to the list and you'll be well equipped for lucid dreaming.

Celastrus paniculatus seeds are a wonderous straight plant source of a decently powerful nootropic.

Ayurvedic medicine has used celastrus seeds for their potent medicinal properties. The seeds are known to treat a variety of ailments. It's recognized by eastern medicine notably as a powerful brain tonic, appetite stimulant, and emetic. The oil of the celastrus seeds can be used to treat physical weakness, mental confusion, alleviate symptoms of some types of asthma, reduce headaches, and can significantly help joint pain and arthritis. The seeds also tend to be a powerful aphrodisiac with particular people.

The seeds can also help stifle to a more or less degree mental fatigue and memory loss, boost memory recall, retention, and other neural processes. Traditional healers from india are known to prescribe the seeds to their patients. People that may suffer from forgetfulness begin adding one seed to their diet daily, and gradually increase their dosage up to 50-100 seeds per day. They definitely, without a doubt improve mental function, memory recall and retention. They also help to improve dream recall and help induce lucid dreams in some circumstances. I was taking 30-40/day.

I've taken these seeds at one point, for over 7-8 months, daily, and they definitely improve mental acuity and memory, ime. Worth a shot.

Then there's also noopept, which had a fairly profound effect on my mental acuity and thought processing/external images processing of the immediate environment.

Those two work wonders ime. I could go on about others, but those two have worked extremely well for me.

:)

Don't forget to consider other racetams. Aniracetam, oxiracetam, pramiracetam, etc.

Aniracetam in particular is supposed to be more powerful (but shorter acting) than piracetam and has anxiolytic effects.

Stacking Galantamine with racetams might not be a good idea as they seems to have opposing effects on the cholinergic system. While galantamine boosts ACh (acetylcholine) levels, piracetam is thought to cause it to be used up more efficiently.

According to Thomas Yuschak in his book Advanced Lucid Dreaming, The Power of Supplements:

"Piracetam does not enhance dreaming at all; in fact, it has proven to significantly supress dreaming."

"Piracetam however, reduces desensitization of the acetylcholine receptors and for this reason it allows for more frequent lucid dream attempts when used correctly."

Also from the book:

Piracetam
Mechanism of action: Enhances ACh synthesis
Time to peak plasma levels: 1.5 hours
Elimination half-life: 5 hours
48 hours to clear from system

Galantamine
Mechanism of action: AChE inhibitor, may act as an ACh agonist
Time to peak plasma levels: 1 hour
Elimination half-life: 7 hours
about 30 hours to clear from system

So to add to the good combos from before, I have found that Magnolia Bark extract is a nice one to help me drift to sleep. Of course Phenibut is unmistakably good but that stuff has horror stories attached so that's a once a week thing if that. I've tried Baicalin which is kind of.. meh.. unless taken at dosages above a G, and then it helps sleep. L-Theanine 200 mg is amazing to add to coffee, it makes it so smooth and clear. I've also heard really good reviews regarding the combo of PEA and Hordenine, but I did read this review and although I don't know the details fully, what this person says makes sense:

"You guys need to stop using this with PEA. PEA becomes UNREGULATED by the body and when you pit it against a mild/moderate MAO-B inhibitor..this means dopamine/norepinephrine flood with no regulation. The specific concern is blood pressure, I've taken coffee (mild MAO inhibitor with PEA 1.5 grams) and my blood pressure spiked to 200 over 140 and if I did not know that the effects of PEA is generally short lived I would have called an ambulance. This is just coffee, hordenine potentially lasts longer than the MAO-B inhibitors found in coffee.

There is a reason WHY MAO inhibitors don't mix well with other drugs; it's called hypertensive crisis. Taking PEA/hordenine together is a life threatening risk even if you feel your mood lifted its doing terrible things to your blood pressure. Don't believe me? Check your blood pressure 30 minutes after you take these two together.

Hordenine itself works great as a mood booster but please don't mix with other pharmaceutical medications that affect dopamine/norepinephrine.

In my personal experience Hordenine seems to be "dirty" as in it seems to have several physical side effects like racing heart, sweating, etc. Used in moderation I like it but frequently not so much."

This thread could probably be moved into the Nootropics section listed above I suppose.

I used aniracetam in the past and i liked it. Then i got noopept, oooh ya.

I take my noopept usually with a fruits and veggies superfood mix and eat some eggs. Noopept is cheap and ive used between 15mg - 40mg and personally find around 40mg to be best. I take random periodic breaks.

How would you compare the two?

I've tried aniracetam with little results, but I've also heard that many people swear by it.

I would say that aniracetam seemed slightly more noticeable with less added attributes. If i didnt take some form of choline with it i would get headaches.

Noopept seems a little less noticeable with a wider range of effects. Although after a few weeks of taking it i think the effects start to become more grand but due to the fact i am starting to get more used to it i dont notice the changes as much as they are. So its hard to say.

With noopept i notice better and longer lasting effects during breaks than i did with aniracetam.

Ive also now been taking noopept longer than i took aniracetam. 10 grams last a very long time.

Yes, take Piracetam only after a lucid dream run with Galantamine. Galantamine shouldn't be a part of your stack (not much info on the web), but it's said to be an efficient tool for lucid dreaming. I expressed myself there sloppy.

longecity.org seems to be the place where all these nootropic combos are discussed in detail.

I have experienced decent results from noopept and modafinil. Noopept seems to be more useful for maintaining optimal brain function, whereas modafinil seems to be more useful in maintaining a high level of energy and wakefulness. I have not tried combining the two, and I do not know if this could cause any sort of harmful interaction so I don't intend to.

I will also be trying phenibut some time soon. I'll share my results with you folks in this thread. :)

I also agree that this thread ought to be moved to the "Nootropics" subforum.

Yeah I can't move my own post can I? I knew the nootropic sub forum was in this group of forums but instead of going into it i just posted here.... sorry! But thank you all for the tremendous advice! I'll have to do some experiments with different types and see what works for me best. I've read a lot of artists testimonies that noopept helped their creative flow tenfold and allowed focused awareness much easier. This is totally what I'm looking for. Sometimes my ADHD makers it very hard to focus on my art..... I won't go back on amphetamines because I take maois so often.

Mod Edit: Moved to Nootropics section

are we allowed to discuss sourcing for nootropics? The Attitude page discusses:

No discussion on selling, buying, sourcing, acquiring, pricing, trading, mentioning pending deliveries or smuggling of drugs
This includes all isolated psychedelic compounds and RCs (Research Chemicals), whether they are legal or not and helping identifying what is clearly a sourced substance. The only goods allowed to be discussed are legal live plants, legal viable seeds (both in the Sustainable plant and seed suppliers subforum) and legal/unwatched chemical supplies. See Street Value of DMT (AND WHY YOU SHOULDN'T EVER SELL DMT AND OTHER PSYCHEDELICS) for good reasons why we don't allow this.
Also please read this thread: Bye bye MHRB sourcing talk, we will remember you

And these are not isolated psychedelic compounds nor RC, but also not plant seeds. I'm sure I could posit that these could be considered chemical supplies to extend human lifespans (nice forum link, Ufostrahlen), but I feel like that holds as much weight as talking about DMT with a signature on an avatar which states that no person actually does that, it's just fun to talk about a pet alligator or fictional person. haha. I have no personal affiliation with my source except that I have found them to quite literally be the best, most reputable company I have ever interacted with for any product, and I know the minds of the Nexus would appreciate that this supplier provides a test result of chemical analysis with every batch sent out. I just like clean information and clean sources, whether you are a person or a business, make sure your source is solid if one is to make a decision on information received from a source.

Noopept sounds great guys, that's going to be next on my list!

And phenibut.. ohhh phenibut... Entheogenertor I can say out of everything I've tried so far this is my favorite. GABA that crosses the blood brain barrier? Whoohoo! I've actually taken scoops of straight GABA for a little while.. anything above a G I would get massive tingling in my body so it definitely had an effect but the anxiolytic actions were absent, the whole point of taking it. I have only had phenibut free amino acid, as this one is said to be easier on the stomach. I guess by searching this it's actually sourcing what I mentioned above since it's the only company on the market that sells it AFAIK. Either way, the stuff is incredible. I have found a sweet spot of 1.1 g. Get ready for this crazy duration. 3-4 hour to onset, and then effects are felt 24-36 hours afterwards. And the come down is slight considering the amazing glow that's received. Of course each user is different, but it's almost too good. Make sure to read about overusing it because the stories people have told sound so horrible I only use it once a week if that.

For the EU fellas (remember: Common European Sales Law breaks national pharmaceutical laws; what you are allowed (sic!) to buy in UK or CZ, you are allowed to buy in NL or DE)

Choline Bitartrate & Alpha GPC (US brands):

Piracetam (legit DE/CZ pharmaceutical OTC product from registered CZ pharmacy):

Another favorite combo of mine: buttermilk & 4 g creatine

Oral creatine monohydrate supplementation improves brain performance: a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial.

Creatine supplementation is in widespread use to enhance sports-fitness performance, and has been trialled successfully in the treatment of neurological, neuromuscular and atherosclerotic disease. Creatine plays a pivotal role in brain energy homeostasis, being a temporal and spatial buffer for cytosolic and mitochondrial pools of the cellular energy currency, adenosine triphosphate and its regulator, adenosine diphosphate. In this work, we tested the hypothesis that oral creatine supplementation (5 g d(-1) for six weeks) would enhance intelligence test scores and working memory performance in 45 young adult, vegetarian subjects in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over design. Creatine supplementation had a significant positive effect (p < 0.0001) on both working memory (backward digit span) and intelligence (Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices), both tasks that require speed of processing. These findings underline a dynamic and significant role of brain energy capacity in influencing brain performance.
