Yeah, Ohler's recent LSD book is awesome, very enjoyable in the original German. I'd like to check out his Nazi meth book as well, just to gauge how much worse that stuff may have made them.
Yeah, I love his style and his frankness. There were a few points of relative inaccuracy I'd love to discuss with him in person, mostly about omitting mention of amphetamine psychosis other than in an oblique way.
Towards the end of the interview, the anecdotal report of his mother's positive response to LSD/psilocin as someone affected by Alzheimer's seems of immense importance. I hope that organisations such as (e.g.) the UK Alzheimer's Society and its equivalent in other countries are paying attention.
Best 4 hours I've spent with my trousers on for a long time Enjoy the rest of it!

Lord! How gnarly the amphetamine psychosis these soldiers were experiencing must have been? The total abuse of pervitin in the context of the battlefield and blitzkrieg fueled with the propaganda. Such experiences surely leave permanent psychological damage.
I will probably go through the interview later, but I read in a book from some german soldier from WW2 east front that they all used meth at the first phase of the offensive, but quite quickly realized all the downsides of the drug and most of them stopped it.
Btw. We still use the name pervitin for meth here.
Read both of those books and enjoyed them. Regarding Blitzed there is some scholarly debate around how of an impact meth use had on war and nazi tactics. As well as impact of drugs on Hitler. But still worth a read.
I especially like the learning about the early days of ergot research at Sandoz in the Tripped book.
I cant listen to Lex Friedman though so will have to skip this one. There are other interviews author has given that are good.
