Notice without judgement
Hello Nexus,
I'm a very early stage explorer and have been humbled and enticed so far with some adolescent experiences with LSD, semi-regular use of THC, and more recently Salvia Divinorum and straight up meditation/mindfulness practice. I am a psychologist in private practice and am regularly amazed that I earn my living through loving, understanding and teaching self compassion.
I am interested in the evolution of the brain (my dissertation was in neuroanatomy and compared turtles to mammals). I have been pleasantly transfixed by the idea of the evolution of consciousness. More recently, I've been working to help myself and others "plug in" to the energy available through "tuning in to the moment" via regular mental exercise of lovingly redirecting the attention to a centering physical sensation (often the breath). I have a history of mild social anxiety and it still is occasionally activated, for example when I go on and on about mindfulness to those who are only politely listening.
I am excited to see this site and am encouraged by the accepting and loving approach I've sensed in the posts. I'm looking forward to reading more and learning more, especially as I prepare for my first DMT experience. I am open to interaction and am hoping to connect with fellow travelers as I continue this amazing experience.
Thanks for reading...
Chris
