Hello All!!
Just wanted to gather opinions and preferences for a good journey.
I personally like candlelight and low music...Bands I enjoy include: Tool, King Crimson, Dredg, Radiohead, Oceansize.
If swiy has never experienced the Psychedelic Screensaver, I highly recommend it..Some of the visuals are so close
to pre-launch visuals...oh yeah, the candle is a "blueberry cobbler" and is nice as my sense of smell is always
heightened when flying...All input will be lovingly considered

I haven't gone on all too many trips, but I did have a particularly interesting experience once when I opted to leave out the music. At the beginning of the trip, I started to hear music in my head; nothing I've really ever heard before in "real life". It felt like I always almost communicating with an entity that spoke exclusively through music. Very interesting experience... generally though, my bf puts on music like Thievery Corp... Personally, I can find some of their tunes a bit melancholy, but it doesn't usually cause a bad trip. This is with pharma, by the way

As for lighting, I noticed that in darkness, visuals are often black and white for me, whereas in brighter settings, I experience very vibrant, colourful visuals.

I really enjoy the artist White Rainbow beautiful stuff.

Scent makes all the difference and can really clear the mind, my favorite is Palo Santo which is a fragrant wood incense very purifying.

I enjoy candle light as well as a Himalayan salt lamp I received for a gift.

When i had a whole bunch of changa, i though id try a few things out seeing as i had enough to experiment.
Me and two close friends smoked changa from a bong in the bedroom. Some nice lighting and psychill (i dont care much for it) which suited the mood. After a couple of bowls, i tried a big hit with eyes open. Which was incredible. I thought i met an entity, and it looked like it was copulating with the guitar that sat in the corner of the room.

I also made a gravity/bucket bong thing using a large bottle, got naked and ran a hot bath. Washed and chilled out in the bath then took the bucket bong and smoked a couple of bowls while i was in the hot bath... that was amazing, but i wont go into the details. I guess its kinda dangerous.

The first time was in the woods during a short trip with a couple of friends. A lose friend and i walked away from the camp and he held the pipe as i smoked then walked off so i was alone in the woods with the sun shining. That was my favorite setting so far id say.

Outdoor settings and DMT are an incredible combination. We did it on a mountain side, over looking two crystalline lakes, and the visual experience was absolutely unbelieveable. It was also my first time I kept my eyes open for the entire trip. I just couldn't believe the things I was seeing... it was almost turning the world around me into a cartoon.

SWIM enjoys green and blue LEDs for a more casual and social setting (SWIM's been doing this for a long time, but then he found out why: Scientists Create 'World's Most Relaxing Room'). Sometimes he'll kick on a strobe with some fairly intense music (especially when making that sort of music), but he'll keep a red LED on the various smoking supplies. Other times, he'll just have white LEDs on the smoking supplies or while making music. When he wants to go really deep, he'll kill the lights and either put on a candle or nothing. He is quite fond of firelight, so he may try candles more often in the future.

As far as music goes, usually he doesn't use music with lyrics unless he can't understand the lyrics, but certain Radiohead albums can be nice and A Silver Mt. Zion. SWIM really gets into primitive-style tribal music or shaman chants (Indian House Records is an excellent source). He's also got a snake-charmer recording and night recordings from Bali (including a lot of gamelan and monkey-chant, of course). Traditional Indian and Sufi music can be quite nice, as well as Tuvan folk music. SWIM's also into the psychedelic music (mostly drone and lofi type bands) coming out of Brooklyn, Iowa City, LA, and Baltimore recently.

SWIM also usually burns some Nag Champa or Tibetan incense.

SWIM does like outdoor settings when possible, but usually just ends up using mescaline or psilocybe for that. He has certainly been known to smoke on hikes, though.

It always amazes me when you guys on here talk about the music you listen to while journeying. I honestly can't believe the bands and the intense music alot of you seem to listen to. I can barely handle any sound at all while I'm in that space. A true breakthrough experience has its own sounds and music already. If had some crazy stuff playing it would totally obliderate and distract me. Lately I've been listening to ayahuasca Icaros chanted and sung by the shaman in south america during ayahuasca sessions. Those guys certainly know what they're doing.
maybe I'm old but some of these bands you kids are listening to I can't get with at least during a spice journey.

I vote for outdoors for sure. Thats the only place I do it. Being out in nature seems to hold a special power for me.
I always get away from all man-made sounds and objects. Find the most out of the way spot you can thats the best.
In the cold weather I make a fire and thats when it really gets good.
