One Pound STB

Migrated topic.
I wouldn't bother doing warm/hot naptha extractions straight away as it pulls extra crap like oils etc. Just do room temp naptha extractions for the first few and then start with the heated naptha when your yield starts to decrease.

Also, that jug might make it kind of hard to get the naptha out...when your ready to do a pull, decant into a smaller container(couple jars?) and then siphon off..

Add plenty of pure salt, and add more lye... It will take care of emulsions no problem

Does it matter whether its iodized or non-iodized salt?

I'll throw in some of the salt I have around here and some more Lye and see if that takes care of things.

Anyway, there was this brown nasty thick sludge that layered out with the Naptha. I was able to separate most of the Naptha and the sludge, both separated into different jars. What should I do with this nasty sludge? I would guess there's still quite a bit of DMT left in the sludge, but, it's sludge?? I don't know what to do.

Sea salt works great, did you shake really really hard? that mightve caused the emulsion.

A recommendation to reduce emulsions is vibrations. Maybe if you can try that.. (SWIM used his motorcycle on full choke, it evened out an emulsion in 2 minutes flat, just buzzin away.)

For your sludge: Separate it from the rest of the pack, add a bit more water, and lye, and then stir it real good. Afterwards, add a pull of HOT (but not boiling) naptha, and mix really well (gently not hard). see what happens.

In SWIM's Tek posted by me on this forum here: simple STB, he uses only about a half gallon of water or so and 1 lb lye per 1 lb of bark. It works excellent, and can all be done in a 1 gallon jug. This does look great though, can't wait to see how it turns out..

Sweeet. Glad your emulsion went away :)

Cant wait to see the results. You better be taking loads of pictures. Are you going to Freeze? or slow evap?

nice job :D

Brilliant! I love improvisations like this!! :d

Good to know there's some other Nexians on 2 wheels as well!

GAH!

I knew it!

No pictures!

Sounds nice. How yellow? looks like you got ~1% or abouts. gj. Now all you need to do is get the jungle out of it with stinky xylene or limonene :)
