He Thinks It's Fun to Just Resist,
He Shouts a lot and Waves His Fist...

Yay! for the Egotist,
Without a Doubt he Does Insist...
Hooray! For the Egotist.

He's Not Sure Why, but He's Really Pissed
Whoop-Dee-Doo! For the Egotist.

So Much in Life He's Surely Missed
Ignorance is bliss! For the Egotist.

Like them a lot! Glad to see the art form of poetry is alive and well on the nexus! These two lines resonated particularly:

If Your Sad There's Never Sunny Weather
If Your Glad Then The Sunlight Stays Forever.

Also, this made me chuckle:

I wouldn't call that poem 'silly' at all. In fact, it's quite incisive IMO.

It's weird. I wrote a poem yesterday called "The Don." It bears a striking resemblance to "The Egoist".

An almost spooky resemblance in many ways. From the overall humorous tone, to the repetition of a phrase. Each stanza of The Don ends with 'Because you're the don'...each of The Egoist end's with 'For the egoist.' 'The Don' is also a stereotypical 'Egoist'. Spooky.

*cue Twilight Zone music.*

It's especially weird considering I hadn't written a poem in maybe a year.

I may PM you it at some point to show you what I mean. :lol: I am quite shy with sharing. May post it when the final draft is done.

I love watching the Old Black and White Twilight Zones while on a good Psychedelic Comedown..

Several episodes end with a phrase like......"But....this IS earth" :shock:

nitpicking: shouldn't "Your Sad/Glad" be "You're Sad/Glad" ?
