p.cyanescens cultivation...

Migrated topic.

Rising Star
Has anyone pulled this off? SWIM is still new to the realm of fungi production but read the cyanescens should be grown off woodchips and is considerably harder than cubensis to grow. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks :d

I have heard it's near impossible to cultivate psilocybe cyanescens...I have heard from some people that they successfully transplanted mycelial networks from the woods around here into an area near them or in their yard..

It must be possible..you just dont hear about people cultivating this strain much because it's so difficult. I wish more people did. I used to know this old hippy that had been picking them since the 70's from my area and he used to give some to me every year..those were the days. I need to take the time to learn to pick these mushrooms properly next year.

ya, i've seen many guides how to do it outdoors. Doesn't seem to hard really, if ur really interested get a DVD called "Lets grow mushrooms!"

Search mushroomvideos on google. Will be the top site. Has guides on doing almost everything there is to do :p

Good luck!

Outdoor cultivation of Psilocybe Cyans is MUCH easier than indoor.

Unless you were referring to panoleus/copelandia.

Outdoors it's easier then P. cubensis, but trying to grow it indoors is next to impossible. SWIM has tried over and over and over to grow them indoors. SWIM is somewhat of an expert at mushroom growing. He’s grown dozens of different kinds of mushrooms indoors. P. cyanescens has some way of sensing the season other than just light, humidity, and temperature changes. SWIM tried everything, and nothing worked. There’s something the mycelium senses about the time of year that’s difficult to simulate indoors.

He ended up putting all of his cultures on alder wood chips, placed them outside at the beginning of October. By the end of October they all fruited. Since then, he just grows them outside. It’s as easy as growing grass that way (once the culture is started). You just water it, keep it out of direct sun, and by October or later they fruit.

Well outside it is then... only 5 more months or so until im out of winter :(
