Since quitting marijuana last week my dream recall is returning and I've been having a lot of sleep paralysis happen. Well, a couple days ago I woke up from sleep, got up to relieve myself, and returned to bed. Very soon after laying there I started to feel funny and recognized it as the familiar state of sleep paralysis, only I didn't lose consciousness. My body fell asleep before my mind did. I thought to myself, SWEET, time to attempt a projection! I stayed calm and "willed" myself loose from my body but was having difficulty "getting out".
After a few attempts I managed to get my legs free which then started floating up towards the ceiling. Then slowly the rest of my (etheric?) body "peeled away" and floated up into the air but my head was still "attached"! I tried to wiggle free but was stuck! What a strange sensation it was. I must have gave up or lost consciousness at that point because I can't remember what happened next but I don't think I succeeded detaching completely.
I was just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them or something similar? Does anyone have any tips? I did notice that I didn't feel the usual vibrations that accompany the beginning stage of my usual OBE's I've had in the past so maybe that had something to do with it?
