Passionate about my mix. Advice and guidance welcomed…

Good evening Goddesses and Gods,

I learned how in the easiest way! With a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket, distilled h2o, sodium hydroxide and naphtha. I used that method 2-3 times since and I will never go back to that way.
Now, I made it in 2000 ml Pyrex Borosilicate Glass bottles.

Recently I have been having a lot of batches come out oily/waxy. I’ve heard it can be from a contaminate. I’ve also heard that it’s caused by drying it too fast in a cool environment.
Is there a way to find out how and can it be fixed and dried?

Also, Is there anywhere I can find the freezer tek recipe?

I start with 250g MHRB. I give it about a liter of distilled h2o. Mix.
Then in a separate jar, i add 8.8 ozs of sodium hydroxide with distilled water. Mix.
Then I add the sodium hydroxide mix to the MHRB mix and I mix.
Then I add 350 mls of naphtha and mix. Let sit, then mix. Let sit, then pull.
I put a fan on the lowest setting on it and a few hours later my results are, see pictures.

I welcome any knowledge and /or guidance, advice.

Thank you. I am grateful for the high vibrations!

Nice yield :)

there can be some variability in end results chances are you pulled some oils along the way. If you want a purer end product you could try the last steps over again to recrystalize your current material essentially refining it.

GoddessDeemers,

Welcome to the Nexus.

I am not able to give you chemistry advice but you are doing rather large extractions.

I would counsel you to do smaller extractions, begin with 50 to 100 grams of bark . . . .

Not only can you scientifically journal your actions and results and thus chase down issues that bother you, such as unwanted oils, but it is a LOT safer.

When you do larger extractions you deal with dangerous and explosive amounts of non polar solvents.

How are you handling fumes?

If something goes wrong and you are not prepared the potential results range from landing in the burn ward to landing in jail to landing in your grave while have literally having lost EVERYTHING that you care about. And at that point in time, the molecule that we all love will receive bad press. In my opinion larger extractions are not worth the real talk, real world risk that they bring.

Also, we have a few actual chemists here and benzyme, a bench chemist says that you always get higher yields with smaller extractions. I personally have found this to be very true. If I get 1.3% from 100 grams of bark I get 1.6% or more from 50 grams of bark. benzyme explained it and I lost it but I think it had something to do with all of the molecules of naphtha having access to all of the surface content of the bark.

I am happy you are here and I think it is truly glorious that you are extracting your own DMT. I just want you to be happy, healthy and free to be able to trip decades into the future. . . .

Avoid mixing metric and imperial units! (Stick to metric ;) )

How many times has this happened? And how often since you switched to borosilicate?

That sounds like you've churned through dozens of grams of product. This might be DMT's way of telling you to slow down. Be grateful it's a gentle one.

Thank you so very much. Such great advice! I definitely want to make a plan for the “what if’s “. It’s always good to have a plan and not have to use it.
So, I have tried starting out with 50g of bark and 100. And I can’t get the pulls looking right or feeling right. I feel like I am messing up with the measurements. However, I have done 2 more batches of 250 grams of bark and was successful. It came out good these times. But, I’m frustrated with the fact I can’t get the smaller batches right. Maybe it’s my Pyrex bottle. Too big possibly. It’s 2000 mls.
I’ll attach some pictures of the good batches. Question for you. How do I do the freezer tech? And thank you so very much for your help/advice and knowledge! Truly grateful!

Thank you 🙏🏼 I appreciate the advice with units!
It’s happened 4 times. Twice since i switched to the borosilicate.
And yes, DMT and the universe has been telling me to slow down with everything in life. I’m grateful too, cause I’m enjoying the “now” more than before!
Thank you again! Truly grateful!

Thank you so much!!! That worked out perfectly! I am so grateful for your advice!

For free precipitation what I do is I evaporate off about 50% of the visible solvent first.

Then I transfer the remainder into a jar that I can seal.

That jar goes into the back of the freezer where the cold air comes in and once I close the freezer I do not open it for 8 to 36 hours to view my snow globe.
