Perceiving 2d things as 3d?

At the 'fractal-overlay-onto-reality' phase I have when smoking DMT, I always have this strange effect that whenever I look at 2d images or surfaces, I can see it in 3d, if I move my head.
For instance my mouse mat, that extends underneath my keyboard, that has all kind of scratches on it. When looking at it sober, its 2d. But if I look at it when on DMT, its like it has a glass surface, with the scratches on top, and the colour of the mouse mat a mm below that. I can, when moving my head, inspect that 3d quality perfectly. Which amazes me every time.

Also, when looking at a picture of some nice wisteria tree, I can see 'around' the branches. This leads me to think that 2s surfaces are in fact 3d. And therefor 3d things might very well in fact be 4d. :D

Does everybody see this? Or have thoughts about this?

Wooahhhhhh 🤩😅

I am only a baby psychonaut with a little of a few different experiences but LSD has definitely articulated both the resolution and relativity of space for me ~ permanently(!)

I see, for instance, the tree's position in space relative to the clouds more articulated. It's especially magical in the forest where depth goes wild seeing through the trees but also the size-height of everything.

And I see the resolution of things better, for instance for a hoseplant, somehow idk how, but I notice the totality of its leaves and branches more. It's almost as if it 'has more leaves'. However each leaf I can touch and engage with and others see the leaves too so, I just feel like I see a bit more of it now by default ~

These effects have blown me away and I find them very enjoyable.
I would love to know what you are describing!
Have not had a good house-situation (let's say) to do my own extractions yet. :)

I did not observe any 2d/3d visuals the way you experienced it but I had this visuals where every surface was covered by glass.
That did not happen very often and was only able to observe it 2-3 times.
THis types of visuals are very neat when also traces are visible.

I experienced also that surfaces are covered by snow or are surrounded by fog.
Also metallic looking and blue colored surfaces look awesome.
