Phenylpiracetam

Migrated topic.

For me, Piracetam is barely noticeable in terms of effects; In fact it might just be placebo.
Many moons ago I even tried combining it with MDMA (apparently, a safe combo), having taken it about 1 hour before taking the MDMA. There was no increase in effect.

It was long ago so perhaps memory is playing tricks on me, but it might even have dampened the effect for me:?:

After having tried a regime for several weeks, and also the attack dose method, I ended up discontinuing it, as there were no benefits. If anything it tended to make me less social.

That said, recently I have become interested in giving the racetams another shot, and have settled on Phenylpiracetam, which according to the ominous wikipedia, is 30-60x as potent as the disappointing (for me) Piracetam.

If anyone else around here has had experiences with it and feeling in the mood to share, feel free8)

I have tried it twice, at 100mg and 150mg, spaced apart by 2 days.
Both times with a delicious natural source of choline a couple of hours before (ran out of citicholine).

Absolutely no positive effect whatsoever. I did notice, like piracetam, a blunting of emotions and empathy, and a surge of negative thought patterns that lasted a few days after discontinuing this experiment..

Bummer.

Yes, I have noticed very real effects with this chemical. I had 5 grams of it, so I was able to start low (~100 mg) and have taken just over 1g. The first thing to note - it tastes absolutely terrible. I've never had anything taste so chemical and linger so long, sublingual absorption is not the way to go. Stick it in some empty capsules, parachute it, whatever you've got to do, just don't taste it!

This will take about an hour to onset. I barely felt effects on lower doses, from 0-300 mg. From 300mg-750mg, the effects were noticeable, it was easier for me to set my mind straight through meditation and I had one fun Friday night where I was playing the game on my computer "Chess Titans" and was able to see the board in a way that level 5 wasn't even a challenge, keep in mind level 5 is about 50% when I am at baseline, I won every game that night.

I did have one experience where I administered 1.2 grams total spaced out over the course of 18 hours, 300 mg the night before, 500 mg at 8 am and then 400 mg just after noon. Now, I am sensitive to chemicals of this type, and I actually got jaw clenching, which surprised me as I did not think it was strong enough to elicit this reaction.

The only thing I would say is be sure of your vendor. The one I use includes a chemical analysis with every batch and is the most transparent and reputable company I have dealt with (and this means anything, their customer service and professionalism is setting the bar). Recently an online retailer actually discontinued the selling of this product, and the company I use sent the best postcard to me, it said:

Here's a Bright Idea (had a picture of a light bulb with the word "phenylpiracetam" inside) and on the back it said: Online Retailer is discontinuing phenylpiracetam, But Reputable Company abides, with a note that if I purchase directly on their website I would be eligible for 20% off. Just a really random thing to get in my post office box that day, haha. Plus they said "But our company abides". That part killed me for some reason, it still seems incredibly funny to me.

I mean, the stuff was designed by a Russian lab for astronauts to assist them with their journeys, the same group that created Phenibut, and athletes (all Russian) have been kicked out of the Olympics for using it. It definitely works, just up the dose slowly until you find a comfortable dose, and then you can be outsmarting an AI unit playing Chess Titans!!

I was just about to mention this exactly. Change the dosage levels a little bit at a time. I don't think your first two experiences are going to settle the score here with this powerful substance. Phenyl is known by a wide-range of effects.

I wasn't aware that these nootropics cause negative effects after initial effects. Is this true for all tam nootropics?

Agreed re the taste.. it's absolutely horrible. But then again, so was Mescaline.

Nevertheless, if I give it a try again, I'll probably mix it with juice instead.. or get capsules.

I was under the impression that 150mg was already a pretty hefty dose.. according to what I read online. I guess i'm just not sensitive to the racetams, I've tried up to 10gr of piracetam in a single day (10gr x2) and noticed absolutely no positive effects..

It is funny because it was the same with celastrus paniculatus. Last year or two years ago I tried it at several doses, nothing happened.. I only mention it because it's method of action is also related to acetylcholine neurotransmission..

As for the the lingering effects, I guess it could just be things getting back to normal after a flurry of negative thinking.. just to be sure I went through my journals again, and it was the same with piracetam. In the days I was experimenting, the writing was negative and even hopeless at times.. few days later, everything good again.

The vendor should be legit, I did a lot of research and they had rave reviews.. tastes as horrible as advertised, and the color is right too. Of course, ideally further test would be done.. but I'm pretty sure this what it should be.

I'd also read about phenylpiracetam being used as doping in sport, I went cycling for a couple of hours and noticed nothing unusual.. no extra stamina, no extra focus.. just normal.

Some people describe the racetams like a bit of a low dose psychedelic, more saturated colors, enhanced appreciation of music, etc.. to me not only does it not come to that, even intellectual activities seem unaided, perhaps even deterred a bit due to the negative thinking that seems to take over during the experiments.

I realize this is not a normal reaction to the racetams. Eh, well.

Oral is very underwhelming. Sniff 10mg and you will never take it orally again. I know many here will scoff at the idea, but the effects are much different and much more noticeable. It takes 10-20mg to reach the same place as 100-150mg orally, and it is much cleaner and the dropoff smoother than oral.

That being said, even with full effects it isn't life-changing. Maybe like ritalin with less cardiovascular stress. It may help you stay up a little longer and focus, but it wont cause any noopept-style revelations. Blunts creativity, sociability, and appetite. Does help keep you focused on whatever you are doing.

Nifty to have around since it is legal, not habit forming (IME, and I used to go full crackhead on ritalin), and useful in certain situations (late night studying where coffee isn't keeping the yawns away).

Overall a novelty/mildly useful substance for occasional use.

Insufflate the stuff, you say? I will have to give that a shot.

I am rather new to nootropics, having some experience now with phenylpiracetam, aniracetam, and pramiracetam, along with some herbs like ashwagandha and bacopa. Best racetam results with aniracetam... the other two being rather on the "work-horse" side... the Ani- seems more involved with verbal fluency and language acquisition (good for my field, religious studies).

from what I understand most of the racetams need to be used for a while for full benefits (up to like months of multiple daily large doses for the Piracetam) ... but the phenyl derivative is supposed to work instantly ... still, it's subtle non-euphoric stimulation, so as with everything YMMV.

I am extremely interested in Noopept though.

Oh and P.S. I have read all over that some subset of the population are just born "non-responders" to phenylpiracetam. All of them are quite funny drugs.
