Phlux extraction: Explain this to me please...!

Migrated topic.

I've got all my cactus cut in strips, got all the skins peeled off. Then there is this line in his tek:

"then do 2 tea pulls with minimal straining, freeze/thaw then blend for the final 2 tea pulls"

Can someone please explain this to me. I want to do this tonight but I don't know what to do here.

Thanks.

a "tea pull" is putting the material in excessive water in a pot and simmering / boiling for 3ish hours then collecting the water. The collected water from all pulls should be reduced to a manageable volume. Freezing the cactus material at some point (Phlux recommends in the middle of 4 pulls here) helps break down the cell walls.

Make the tea as instructed in the tek.

Remove the chunks, them make the tea again

And repeat

Then freeze the chunks, thaw them... Put them in a blender

And make the tea 2 more times

That is the problem, he never actually mentioned how to make the tea in the tek.

But you explained it well here. I can proceed now.

Thanks.

Just finished my 2nd pull.....gonna put the chunks in the freezer.

The water is suppose to just look a little dirty right? This is so weird, it's hard to believe there is magic in that water.

i did post tea teks

The only "tek" that I found was "working with fresh cactus - a pictorial", and in that tek, how to make the tea is not described. Someone mentioned you have some extraction and tea teks around here, but I couldn't find them.

but now i cut it into small peices , then do a 3 hr light simmer, 2hr med simmer and 1hr hot simmer with good pressing between soaks
this is then filtered well - reduced then filtered again
then placed into the fridge overnight for all the sediment to fall out - thats poured off to leave a nice clear yellowish tea.

leaving the sediment to drop out overnight helps with taste shitloads - i cant reccomend it enough - also be a filtration addict - its a likeable attribute.

Ok, well I am in mid "old tek" process right now. What should I do?

I did 2 boils/pulls last night. I then put the cactus pieces in the freezer overnight.

I have them thawing out right now.

Should I continue on as in your original tek?
Or try and do the jelly at the point I am right now with the thawing pieces?

Also, when you say you "filter" it, what exactly do you mean?

Thanks for the input.

bro dont blend!

if you have already, find a way to dehydrate all of the mess and add bass to the powder of the dehydrated smoothie

if you havent, filter the chunks and liquid. bass the liquid and pull nps, dry the chunks and powder em, add bass then slightly rehydrate that powder with water and let the bass do the work, submerge that bass paste in an nps and watch it change colors, combine all your nps and salt with dilute hcl....

or skip all this and just eat it without any chems
