Plants on ebay

Hey there! SWIM was browsing ebay the other day looking for more plants to add to his collection when he noticed some cacti being sold that looked extremely like his plant friend Willy, but under various names that didn't seem to add up for swim. While some were based in countries where this is not a problem, he did notice a few being sold from a country where willy isn't allowed anymore. Would it be wise of swim to trust his judgement on looks or are these variations of willy that don't have as much power? Are these sellers trustworthy? SWIM thanks you for any words of wisdom you feel like sharing on this grey area.

I know exactly what listings swim is talking about you can't trust anybody because it's illegal, but does happen I would trust those listings personally and swim is real surprised it's a dead give away the way he lists it. Personally at those outrageous prices that they will go for though swim would just buy seed and do a graft they grow real fast that way. Check out the mycotopia for some pics that are currently up in the botanical section guys got a 11 month loph that exploded with growth.

Yeah, swim was thinking it was a bit to obvious and was a bit confused. Someone told swim that grafts tend to have less power, but if seed grown isn't that hard swim might have to look into it. It would be nicer to see the whole process of their growth anyway. SWIM thanks you for your words, safe travels! :)

Peyote is not fedearlly scheduled in Australia, but is controlled in the Australian Capital Territory (see Criminial Code and may be illegal in other territories as well. Import restrictions exist on the artichoke cactus (Obregonia denegrii), which is referred to in Australian law as "peyote". (see Wildlife Protection Act). (thanks T, DR, ET)

They are ordered all the time.

They ARE L. williamsii listed under another name, they are perfectly legit.

Go for it.

I even talk about this in some of my posts....
