Please Help

Migrated topic.
After careful consideration i decided to try my first Ayahuasca brew, I am completely clear on all aspects of the brew.

With one exception ... the boil, I really dont know just how vigorous the boil should be?

rolling boil, slight bubbling, above boiling point?

Any help would be fantastic and gratefully appreciated.

Hi LeftEyeofHorus,

Welcome to the Nexus. I love your username. I have a cat who is called Horus, but also known as Havanna - big brown male, over 20 pounds.

I'm no expert, but since ۩ taught me to make aya, I'll go ahead and post. One thing I should note is that this is mainly b. caapi aya. If I want DMT I add some fb during the final reduction.

I add no acid. I start in the morning with a BIG pot, 50-100 grams of b. caapi and a HUGE amount of water. I take about 20-40 mins initially and slowly getting it up to a very gentle, bubble/boil as described above, then turn it down such that it gently continues to bubble - 30 mins on this boil. Then I add/replace (with fresh) all the water that boiled off and repeat the procedure. I do 4 boils usually, replacing water every time, then a final, very slow reduction. Entire process usually takes me 8-12 hours. Brew is palatable (I have bad taste aversions) and works every time.

Another query,

If one were to consume ayahuasca and say were only feeling mild effects, could anybody recommend any particular foods/drinks that may further the experience?

I have been told that blackcurrant juice would help, however, I cannot clarify this.

Any input will be greatly appreciated

kind regards
