Planing to do Noman plus Na2CO3 wash...

1. want to make sure this is the correct ratio for powdered bark:
1g mhrb : 22.5ml-30ml h2o : 1g NaOH

2. freeze precipitation...Are you better off using 4-6 jars for FP like the tek describes, or combining them all into 1 container for FP? Is there a difference, besides being able to separate your pulls?

well if you want to make that much water, its fine, but 15ml water should be enough...

as for freeze precip, you can put them all in one jar, but if its your first extraction, then if something goes wrong with one and you spill it or whatever, then you lose everything.. You know what they say, 'dont put all your eggs in one basket'. You can maybe put like, pull 1 and 2 together, 3 and 4 together, 5 (and 6 if you make) together.. Or whatever..

Another thing is that different pulls have different qualities sometimes. So sometimes the first pull is whiter/cleaner, while subsequent ones get more yellow, so if you mix it all you might have it all more yellow/darker.. But if its yellower/darker you can always recrystalize everything afterwards anyways.

But appart from these issues there is no real problem in mixing them up.

Btw do remember that for freeze precipitation to work the solvent needs to be saturated before going in the freezer, so its better to make more pulls (like 6) but make them smaller (like, say, 50ml per 100g mimosa). You can reuse the solvent after freeze precip for more pulls. Also remember if nothing crashes out, then evap half the amount and stick into freezer again.

Yeah I mostly see 15ml/g being used but I though you needed 1.5-2x more if you used pre-powdered bark...

The plan was to start with 50g extractions...And separating each pull seemed like a pain, you'd have to wash each separately & recrystallize each minute amount separately as well...Figured it would be much easier to combine at least a few together like you suggested & recrystallize it all together...

even with powdered, 15ml should be ok.. It never failed with SWIM.

you can start with 50g extractions, many people do.. SWIM usually thinks that 100g is better because with 50g its just so little dmt, and there's always some that gets stuck to the container and isnt scraped or lost somewhere or whatever, so its hard to play with so little.. With 100g it already becomes a bit easier, at least thats what SWIM thinks.

And yeah when extracting so little, its maybe not bad idea to mix pulls up and make things simpler... At least mixing a couple of pulls together, just so that you still dont have everything together risking loosing everything if something goes wrong.

Start with 15ml per gram, but let the solution sit awhile and make sure that it's free flowing and not thick and congealed before adding the NP.
I wouldn't recommend the bicarb wash, the pH will be too low and you'll lose significant yield.
Better to convert the bicarb to carbonate and use that.
