Ingredients needed:
- Sodium carbonate
- Distilled water
- 99.9% IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) or as close as you can get
- HCl (hydrocloric acid)
- Acetone for final wash
Pipettes are a huge help.
Make a paste with sodium carbonate, water, and seed powder. Eye it up. Make the sodium carbonate pile the same size as the seed powder pile.
Mix them together well. Then add distilled water until it forms a paste as you mix it. Gloved hands work well. Spread the paste into an even thin layer.
This should bring the pH to like 14. Which will (fb) fr33b4se the alkaloids meaning in its free basic non bonded to an acid making a salt which is the opposite of fb (when bonded to an acid.)
Let the paste dry completely. Probably overnight.
Break up the cake.
Then do 3-5 IPA pulls by adding IPA and stirring with stir rod until there is a color change. Mine clouded very quickly. Then filter through coffee filters.
The IPA pull should stay basic but not 14. It should be the pKb of LSA.
IPA pulls should be 8ph or higher. (Mine was 8-9ph) Test with PH paper. If good, add HCl by the drop. Add a couple drops.
Test with pH paper. If no minor change, add 1ml. Test again. Seeing a difference? If yes, add in .5ml increments and test again. Once you hit 7. Then a few drops at a time until you hit 6. Then one or two drops at a time until you hit 5.
Apparently the pH of LSA is around 8 and the pKa is like 7.8 so shoot for pH 5 with HCl.
Then once acidic dry the ipa on a ceramic plate under a fan.
Should crystallize if done right when dried. If you end up with resin/goo (I did), wash with Acetone in a Pyrex dish or ceramic plate. Break up the resin with a metal stir rod. Pull the bad acetone with a pipette, being careful to leave the solids on the tray. I titled the tray slightly to one side to collect the Acetone. Dry and you'll have pure LSA crystals.
Scrape up with razor blades and your done.
2-5mg is considered a moderate dose of LSA.
