I am planning to do a methanol extraction on cubensis and want te perform a chromatography but for me it is pretty impossible to get chloroform and benzene, so my question is, is the pre wash with those chemicals essential to perform a chromatography or is it only harder without it?

What is the solid phase? Fine silica gel? Are you referencing a particular study? If they used benzene and chloroform its probably old and outdated. There are other ways.

Yes or cotton if that is possible but probably silica, i am refearing to most teks i have read i was already planning on a heptane de-fatting but since i am not a chemist i would love if you can give me some feedback (note i am not a chemist so i cant achieve some of the more heavy chemicals)
