Hi there,

I've often recognized myself in your words and echoed them in various social situations. I believe I'm an experienced tripper, though I'm only taking my first steps in understanding, deepening and further exploring the lessons. This forum has shown me how to work with the spice and this rewarded me with mind blasting experiences.

My substance use has changed over the years, in a good way. I started with alcohol, tobacco, marihuana and soon moved on to pills, shrooms, acid, 2c-*, dmt, and lately ayahuasca. While the diversity of my use kept increasing, at no point I reflected at the fact that I only seemed to strive for more. I began getting serious problems with drinking.

That was, maybe, one year ago. Things change, luckily. I stopped drinking, smoking marihuana, and all drugs except for plant-based psychedelics (shrooms, cacti, dmt). I've visited a shaman twice this year for an ayahuasca ceremony, which delivered a strong sense of direction. The intention behind my use is changing. I strive less for tripping just for the sake of it, I make my choices a little more conscious and try to integrate my experiences in my overall perspective of my perception.

I will absorb and share what I can and thank you for offering this great forum!

Welcome,

Exceptional having you here, thanks for writing us a bit about yourself.

I always love hearing about people giving up alcohol.

See you around the Nexus!

Hey,

must say that giving up alcohol is my best decision so far :). I'm aiming at opening my mind, not narrowing it, and alcohol (especially with the negative side effects, physically, mentally and behaviorally) does the exact opposite. I face that it takes time to integrate this abstinence in my social life: I used to drink to 'loosen up', in speaking, dancing, etc. Now I don't use mr. alcohol but will have to do it on my own :)

Even writing it down here makes it more concrete for me.

Anyhow, thanks for having me here :)

ciao!
