hmm, i read the xlogp of caffeine is -0.5 and naphtha being around 4, would make it a poor solvent to use. i could pick up some MEK since its almost right on with caffeine but eh its expensive. this extraction doesn't have to be perfect.so, is it possible to get some using naphtha or will the caffeine stay in the basified aqueous?
