q21 dry tek + max ion?

I want to try parts of Cyb's Max Ion Tek while still using the q21q21 dry tek.

I normally do q21q21 which starts with a warm vinegar soak.

Max Ion starts with freeze-thaw, then acid. Any reason not to hydrate the bark with vinegar in the first place and freeze-thaw it while acidified? Vinegar lowers surface tension and acts like a wetting agent; perhaps that would help get the water into the cells so freeze-thaw is more effective.

Can salting the calcium hydroxide mud help the yield or separation of solvent in the same way as salting a lye solution?

I am currently doing freeze thaw cycles with vinegar. It's my first extraction so wouldn't be able to say it makes a difference.

I also was considering using parts of the two teks. After adding calcium hydroxide to the mud and letting it sit for a while.

Then adding water and salt and then do the pulls and rest as described in the max ion Tek.

Not sure if there is any advantage to this or if it would work. Lower solvent amount than q21 and use a weaker base than max ion if it works.

Though I don't have a pippet and as it's my first extraction I think I will just stick to q21

Yes just stick to q21.

I've since found the salt thread where it was discussed that multiple people have already tried salting q21q21 and it actually does something to block the DMT from flowing into naphtha - a reversed result than what it normally does. No one goes into why exactly, but I guess to have a solution with ions you need a solution first. So dry teks like q21q21 where the calcium hydroxide sucks up all the water is somehow not compatible. It sounds like it should all go together so well.

I'll still try it. Maybe adding salt water to make a slurry, then basing, then dry it out again before naphtha.
