Question about drying xtals and removing them after precipitation

Alright so SWIM did his first extraction last night using:
- 100gm of lye
- 100gm of powdered MHRB
- 1500mL of H20
- 250mL of Naphtha (50-60mL pulls)

SWIM added his lye and water and kept it cool to not melt his jug then mixed the MHRB in and shook it like crazy and left it to steep for a hour shaking periodically to increase surface area.
SWIM then heated his solvent and did his first pull. He then realized it me be smart to heat the basic solution as well so the second pull both were heated. This brings me to SWIM's first question should both solutions be heated or just the solvent? Is hotter better? SWIM thinks he heard that the heat makes the solvent more attractive and hospitable to the spice which would suggest that the solvent only be heated but then SWIM sees alot of Tek's that have both heated so if someone could let SWIM know what is good to do that would be very helpful! On to SWIM's other question, he has searched and searched and could not find any info on how to dry the spice once it is freeze precip'd. SWIM took a precip out and had a nice amount of snow white xtals so SWIM poured the solvent off and broke the spice off but once it warms up the small amount of solvent left on the face of the xtals melts it back down to a liquid and SWIM has heard that using a fan to dry can cause dmt oxide to form is this true?? sounds fishy to me. but what is a good way to get the solvent off the xtals b4 they warm up and melt back down and what is the best drying method?? Ahead of time I want to thank the Nexus and all you Psychonauts out there for the help with any questions I have you guys rock I have never found so many like minded people in one place!! If you heat the naphtha, you may get other stuff, such as plant oils, with it. Heating is usually not necessary. Maybe heat the very last pull, but it will need a lot of re-xing.

To get the crystals: drain off naphtha, put the jar back in the freezer upside-down with the lid on bottom. The naphtha will drain to the lid. Remove from freezer (keeping lid on bottom) and take off lid over sink. Your spice is now free of naphtha. Let it sit in a dry area overnight. I have never noticed much degradation from using a fan though... if you are in a hurry to dry a dose or two. But, yes it is true that it degrades into dmt oxide.

SWIM uses a funnel and a coffee filter. Just fold the coffee filter in 4, open one side and place it on the funnel, then place this on an empty jar and transfer the naptha from the freezer. It takes a couple minutes to strain. Then take the coffee filter out, collect the spice with a guitar pick and place it on a flat sheet of glass. Cut it down with a razor a couple times and the remaining naptha will evaporate fairly quick. You will end up with a very fine, dusty spice, then you can recrystalize and evap for futher purification.
