question about shelf life

Hi guys : )

SWIM came across this thread and he decided he will try : "Hyperspace Fool's COCO Tek For Insufflation Of DMT"

SWIM's planning to use dmt-fumarate - therefore he doesn't need to use vinegar. SWIM's question is what's the shelf-life if he stores 10ml of this watery-cococream-dmt in a standard nasal spray bottle in a fridge? is it stabile like (or close to) fumarate?

Thanks!

There's no reason it won't be chemically nearly as stable as fumarate crystals themselves. Mould or bacteria might be a problem after 3 days so I would suggest that sterility of the mixture and the container should be a priority if you're planning on storing an acetic acid-free formula that way for anything more than a week. Otherwise, keeping it in a freezer will extend its shelf-life.

In the original COCO tek, the acetic acid helps act as a preservative. It does more than merely neutralizing the DMT freebase. 1% of acetic acid in the aqueous phase will effectively prevent mould growth. I can confirm this experientially in the case of rue tea (without coco cream, of course).

Thank you for your answer.

SWIM's goal is roughly a month shelf life in a fridge using a 5ml nasal spray container. Is this possible if SWIM uses freebase converted to acetate?

SWIM has little to no experience in chemistry... But would that work if SWIM adds a 'touch of vinegar' to the dmt fumarate solution? Will he achieve the 1% acetic acid level in the dmt fumarate solution to preserve it better?

SWIM is a littlebit affraid of using freebase as he tried a line before and it burned like hell... SWIM also read a few posts about this coco nasal method with freebase and this is why he decided to use fumarate (prior your answer :D ).

SWIM uses heptane and makes clean, white dmt
SWIM has acces to empty _sterile_ nasal spray bottles
SWIM has a DIY glovebox (was used for shrooms) and he is experienced keeping mold and bacteria away from his containers in general :)

SWIM would be really happy for a month shelf life in a normal fridge  so therefore SWIM could go ahead and travel while lockdown is still in place..

EDIT : What if instead normal water SWIM adds fully saturated saline solution for preservation ? (SWIM just read thats what's used normally for preserving nasal sprays). Does salt interfere with the dmt fumarate (or freebase) ? Or maybe both ? So fumarate (or freebase) + few drops of 20% vinegar (higher % as SWIM would like to make a less watery spray) + saline solution instead pure water ? Maybe using distilled water for the saline solution for even better sterility?

Dissolve freebase in salty vinegar, mix with coco cream. Store in sterile bottle in fridge.
Freebase is neutralised by vinegar, there's no need to be scared.

3) Add a touch of vinegar to convert freebase to acetate (not needed with salt spice).

Saturated saline is overdoing it, and will cause problems by crystallising in the spray nozzle. 0.9% is the normal "physiological" saline. A bit stronger than 0.9% will be fine. Refer to the salinity of seawater for guidance.

Good luck with your hyperspace salad dressing 😉

Thank you for your kind help and your wish for good luck with SWIM's salad dressing 😁

Just recently SWIM made a bit of freebase to play with, as he is expecting some experimentation with his salad dressing  this came out of the freezer Today.

SWIM is proud of his freebase so he asked me to send a pic for you. SWIM actually thinks one day he will make a guide of his modified cyb's tek (he calls it rapid cyb, as it takes 3-3.5 hours total from powdered mhrb to puting a tray with solvent in the freezer) SWIM is a bit of a tinker ;) Also he will post the nasal spray recipe if it delivers as expected.

Thank you again for your help!
SWIM wishes you all the best on your real and otherworldly travels as well :)
