Question for Norwegians - Best solvent to get in Norway

Hello, Norwegians

SWIM has recently considered a new solvent for extraction, as heptane does not seem ideal, and may be the reason yields are lower than expected.

I have had several solvents recommended, but they do not seem to be available in Norway. Do any of you have some good recommendations for alternative solvents, preferably solvents that SWIY have had good experiences/high yields with?

Try looking for the type of naphta that is used for degreasing and stain cleaning. You can sometimes buy it in bigger supermarkets. Alternatively, art stores may carry something similar for paint cleaning and diluting.

Make sure you get one that is low on aromatics (benzene, toluene, xylene etc.) because you cannot properly do freeze precipitation with that and it is more toxic than saturated alkanes. Before you start using it in an extraction, evaporate a few milliliters in a very clean glass bowl to verify that it doesn't contain any non-volatile impurities.
