Rising Star
I am totally open minded about DMT. I am actually in the middle of an informative research paper that I am doing for school. I believe that if the experiences are truly the result of inter dimensional travel then this is EPIC and people should know about it. This concept blows my mind, and comes the closest to what has always made sence to me. I won't pretend to be an expert on anything (maybe photoshop), but it seems to me that since there is so much of the brain that we don't use, it is inconcieveable what we, at our full potential, would be capable of. I think that the research and study that is being put into the purpose of the pineal gland and it's possible connection with DMT, and it's possible link to "travel" could be the first steps toward our next evolution. Maybe, just maybe, this is where we finally meet E.T. There is no doubt that if this ever became known, respected and spread through the masses, the world would instantly change. For better, for worse, I don't know, but it would be different. This is what the government is afraid of..this is why it is concidered a category one drug. The entire world is guilty....

Sorry for rambling. Got lost there for a sec.

You answered your own question by including the option 'for worse'. As soon as you add in such a level of the uknown that dmt offers, there's no way any government (under the current modes of government we know) would sanction it. They would see unleashing such a potential as completely irresponsible.

And anyway, even if we could convince them that it would be for 'good', this is good in our interpretation of the word. It would not necessarily be beneficial to those in power, who have their own set idea of what the world should be like and what our place in it should be. Most important of all it would not be beneficial to them staying in power and that is completely unpalatable to them.

The answer would be for someone who had done DMT to get into power, or somehow to convince the people currently in power to take entheogens. Grace Slick once harboured a dream of slipping Nixon acid. See another thread about forcing psychedelics on people to see whether this would ever be a moral answer.

Good, you should spread the word, just be careful how you do it & how you present DMT. By school do you mean it in the American useage of university, or teenager school?

True, though impossible to prove so even if people are told they won't believe it until they experience it for themselves (and many won't wnat to) - and possibly not even then.

Actually I think there is little of the brain that isn't used for something, we just don't know what it is - or was - used for. The figure that we only use 10% of our brains is a myth.
There is no doubt that if this ever became known, respected and spread through the masses, the world would instantly change.
Sorry to be so negative but I doubt it, nothing changes instantly and simple knowledge won't change people's beliefs, cultural mindsets, prejudices and preconceptions. Any change as a result of DMT would be gradual and generational.

And someone once tried to dose Gerald Ford by spiking a cofee urn at an event he was at but he only managed to dose a bunch of stagehands. I think that approach is rather counter productive though, its not likely to be condusive to a good trip or leave a good impression with the person spiked. Interestingly though I wouldn't hold out the hope that once someone with experience with psychedelics gets into power it'll all change John Kennedy had reportedly tried LSD and greatly enjoyed it but he didn't take any steps to do anything about it. I can well imagine a lot of other politicians growing up in the 60's & 70's would've tried something at some time, I can't imagine not inhaling weed was as far as it went.

TRUE. THAT.
Isn't it the same for LSD and Mushrooms and Marijuanna and Cacti and etc...? (This list could go on for days...)
Media manipulation. I loathe it.
