SWIM is most definitely not barking up the wrong tree. SWIM is barking up one of many trees that could help him out. Ayahuasca is powerful stuff. It demands utmost respect. It has a long history with humans, and it knows us well.
I suggest visiting the forums at ayahuasca.com .. most of your answers will probably be there, but if you are interested in pharmahuasca the nexus seems to be the place. I have never done pharma, but have drunk a few brews this year and it has been pretty amazing on the whole... and very challenging at times.
