Re-crystallizing oxidized Spice

Migrated topic.

Over time I was dismayed to see once white clear crystals turn orange. I knew in my mind that color is no indication of purity or potency, however, I simply had to restore things back to white. Or off-white...
Why do I always over think this process?
I heated water to under boiling (180f) , and removed all ignition sources .
I weighed my spice. It was almost exactly 3 grams.
I measured 75ml Heptane, into a flat bottom flask, and added the spice.
I immersed the flask in the hot water, alternating swirling with submersion.
Using a digital thermometer, I maintained the water was hot.
Again swirling and immersing over and over again until I was satisfied that all the DMT was in solution.
The flask bottom was coated with a red substance, and a few red " balls". I used a glass rod to poke the balls, while swirling again, to ensure all the spice was in solution.
Next, I decanted the solution into a glass baking dish, sealed the top with a tight fitting lid, and placed into a cold freezer for
Precipitation.
After 6 hours, solution was poured off, and spice was left to form crystals in a cool dry closet
Two days later- pure white crystals again!
I will post pics and weight tomorrow
Hopefully this is helpful to someone who is as daft like me

I ended up with a straight! 2.345gms.
I was too lazy to scrape the flask, and didn't want to hurt it, as it came from my High School Chemistry lab!.
And 2+ grams of DMT is way more than I need.
It makes me happy just knowing the trees are full, growing, and unharmed by greedy bark hunters...
