Rising Star
Hello Nexians,

Thought I would take the time to introduce myself now that I have registered and put the cart before the horse with a trip report.
I've been traveling on the psychedelic road exploring interesting substances that come across my path for about the 25 years.
Off the top of my head here's a little background on compounds and substances explored, enjoyed and regretted:

-Pot
-Shrooms
-LSD
-2ci
-MDMA
-MDA
-Ketamine - Not a fan of dissociatives
-Salvia - Only substance I've only ever tried once. God awful bad trip threw away the supply after 1 dose
-5-MeO DIPT
-MIPT
-DMT (my new passion to the near exclusion of all others)

I fell in love with the psychedelic journey fairly young, at the age of 16 or so after being introduced to LSD. I had 100's of experiences but must admit that at that age it was more about recreation and partying than exploration and gaining insight. Around the same time I began exploring psilocybin though I've never in my psychedelic career tried the heroic doses recommended by Mckenna.

The next love of my life, in my early 20's was when I was introduced to MDMA. This was the time when my outlook was shifting away from "getting high". I was never into the rave scene. The concept of an empathnogen and the therapeutic possibilities associated with this substance was very alluring. I became somewhat of a disciple of Shulgin and dreamed of researching and exploring the compounds he had developed. Unfortunately my dreams of exploring the substances from TIHKAL have been limited as I live on the prairies of Canada where few have ever heard of a tryptamine other than psilocybin.

It was in my early twenties that I first read of DMT and it had remained on my bucket list, ever elusive and seemingly out of reach until one faithful day last year when a fellow psychedelic enthusiast and close friend called out of the blue. He had known for quite some time I had longed for this experience. He met someone in his journeys and had arranged for introductions with an assuriity that if I was prepared and willing my long time wish to finally experience this amazing molecule would be fulfilled. I have been utterly enamoured ever since that faithful night and have been consuming information and knowledge ever since.

That initial experience and thirst to understand and discover has lead me here to the Nexus. I have been lurking about ever since that night, reviewing experiences and reading up on teks. I must confess that fear of keeping my anonymity has thus far kept me from speaking to much about my tek experience. I have to apologize to Pandora for playing coy in my other thread regarding tek experience but fear of disclosure even here amongst the initiated held my tongue. I will read up a bit more about posting extraction knowledge in an acceptable way.

Well there you have it. My long winded introduction essay. As you all might guess my posts are likely to be less than succinct but I'll try and keep them shorter. I look forward to many insights and discussions in the future. Thanks for reading and for the welcome.

nice intro dude...welcome to the nexus! i liked it so much im making you a full member

stop by the chat sometime!

Wow this is sure unexpected so soon. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute and the vote of confidence. I hope my enthusiasm and willingness to give back to the community what I can will make up for my lack of specialized knowledge. The "resumes" outlined by new folks posting in the Intro Essay forum are extraordinary compared to my meager layman experience but I am definitely psyched to be able to add to the amazing discussions on the forums.

Welcome,
Your intro is great full member already?!
Read my long intros below re Old Dog Learning New Tricks to see how NOT TO BE TOO FORTHCOMING< Reply if you get time

Joshua2112,

Welcome to the Nexus and thanks so much for posting that great intro. essay, :D. For those who didn't see it, he first appeared in this thread Not sure what's happening - First steps in Hyperspace - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus. The cumulative posts cry out for promotion in my opinion and Jorkest took care of business. Personally, I think you are a great addition to the Nexus Joshua 2112, and no need to apologize to me.

As Jorkest, invited, love to have you join us nuts in chat if you get some free time sometime soon and want to chat with some of us characters in person.

Again, a very warm welcome to you.

Hey there Jorkest,
I was perusing the salvia forum and came across a thread "first and last time trying salvia" that was so similar to my own one and only trip that I felt compelled to share. I didn't have an option to reply or quote though. Just thought I would check and see if there were steps I needed to take after promotion to get access to certain forums?

If the powers that be have decided it was too soon for promotion I totally understand. No one was more suprised than myself. Just thought I would make sure I am not missing something?

I read an intro essay where a respondant explained how new people can reference and link threads they can't post in right here. In the event you all need to get to know me more I'll just link that thread and post my experience here.

Salvia scared the bejesus out of me but I still find the uncanny similarities across many negative trip reports utterly facinating. I'll hold off on referencing and posting here a bit until I find out if i'm just missing something regarding permissions to post in other forums.

For more focused replies having to do with the thread itself rather than that and your intro, start a NEW post in the Open Discussion area titled "Re: first and last time trying salvia,: then within your first paragraph of the post, including a link to the original post you are discussing.

This should get a lot of views and replies. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the posting advice Pandora. Just posted my Salvia experience in the general discussion forum.
