Reliable Torch Lighter: Any idea?

Migrated topic.

I am currently using the turboflame arc and it has been letting me down. It doesn't always light when you really, really need it to light. Very frustrating.

Looking for input from anyone that knows of a torch lighter that will light almost every time without problems.

i have an arc and if its cold it doesnt fire well at all, but if its warm its fires up OK, but it does have a tendancy to cut out at the end of a long hit, this is pretty annoying as the arc is lots of pennies and the the worst point for it to cut out is the end of a hit.

i like to keep a spare lighter on the bed just incase this happens, but if the dose is sufficiant then it takes quite an effort to remember what to do with the spare lighter:surprised

Ok, thanks for the tips. Also, I don't know if this is a big deal or not, but the few times I have refilled the lighter, I didn't "bleed" it first. Is that a big deal?

ye man, there could be a build up of air in your arc, id bleed it though and refill.

on a side note, since i am unable to use my long time companion, the arc, ive had to buy a new lighter that would be easier for me to use.

Regal round torch lighter works good for me
its not as solid as the arc, but works well.

Ok, I will bleed it and give it a shot and see if it works better.

I'll check out that other link too.

Thanks.

I use this Vector Single Flame Torch.

I have the GUNMETAL one. Steady flame. Easy to fill. Very solid design. I've dropped on the cement a few times and it still works great! It cost $24 but it's a good investment if you have a GVG. I use it regularly for many things. As long as i don't aim it straight down at a 90 degree angle to the floor then it doesn't cut out.
