Unless the cactus was Trichocereus and is several feet thick I highly doubt 6 people could ever trip off a single 12inches of cacti (there are Trichocereus a few feet thick however).There are some clones of Trichocereus where 3-5 inches is sufficient for a pretty decent experience.
