A "rosin" press is basically two hot plates that heat up and apply pressure causing water in the plant between the plates to steam, steam provides heat for distillation of organic compounds. Nylon mesh bags are used as well and keep plant matter out of rosin product. Temperature of plates can be adjusted.
This extraction technique was designed for cannabis oil extraction, but I am wondering is there anything else I could press with a rosin press?
I have a small "Nugsmasher XP" and would be willing to press different plants for analysis of distillate if there are any requests.
I also have a few reagents (ehlrich, hoffman, marquis, etc.) that I hope to use to further identify actives in whatever distillates.
