The harmine that I have was purchased, so I can't be entirely sure it's HCl. It was sold to me as a HCl salt. I do know that it's a salt because it readily dissolves in water. I did a very rough experiment with an IR thermometer while heating up a piece of tinfoil with the harmine in it and noticed vapors at around 120C. I also tried successfully to inhale the vapors in an oil burner. It didn't require excessive heating and I most definitely felt the effects.

I've been posting about this for a few weeks and am still waiting to see if someone else can repeat my experiment.
