I am a Freemason and Rosicrucian from the US. I'm interested in learning more about entheogenic Alchemy and how I might produce the true Lapis Philosophorum within my home lab. For many years I have held an interest in tryptamines, and following my last Divine Moment of Truth on July 8 I became aware of the fact that this state is that for which most Freemasons and Rosicrucians are seeking, in vain. I was also inspired by Brother Timothy Hogan's phenomenal explication of Masonic ritual in light of the Alchemical process (see his The Alchemical Keys to Masonic Ritual), which mirrors those steps set forth in Mutus Liber. It is my desire to link up my Masonic knowledge with that of the True Stone of the Wise. I look foreward to learning from your posts.

There is only one plant referenced in the Master Mason Degree: acacia. As Tim Hogan has recently revealed in his book (see above), the steps for extracting the salts from a given plant are encoded withing the three Degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry. This is because Freemasonry, like Rosicrucianism, is intimately connected to the Alchemical arts. Alchemy is, of course, a primitive form of chemistry which, in cryptic language, instructs one in the methods by which drugs can be extracted from organic sources (see Noton's Ordinall of Alchemy, for example). It is my opinion that DMT salts are the Philosophical Stone which may be extracted from our acacia. :)

Below is a link to Bro. Tim Hogan's video presentation outlining the correlations between practical Alchemy and the three Degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry. My question is this: if these steps were to be applied to the Masonically relevent acacia, would DMT then be the end result?

How did I come to believe that the mystery of DMT extraction was at the heart of Alchemy, and that Alchemy was central to the three Degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry?

Well, the Alchemical literature is wrought with mystical language that can only be describing an altered state of consciousness. We know that the Alchemists were employing a primitive form of chemistry to extract 'Stones,' i.e., salts/alkaloids from plants. The right stone, the Lapis Philosophorum or 'Stone of the Philosophers' was said to be able to convert base metals such as iron and lead into gold; that is, it could elevate or 'Raise' an uninitiated man to the level of an Adept. However, which plants were being used remains a mystery. It was within Alchemy that I expected to find en example of early DMT use, outside of it being used as an insuffulate or blended with an MAOI. When I went through the three Degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry, I was already struck by several Alchemical references, and particularly by the allusion to the acacia in the Master Mason Degree, the latter of which, I already knew, being a rich source of DMT. It was not until I came across Bro. Tim's book breaking down the correlations between Alchemy and Freemasonry that I realized what it was for which I was looking was staring me right in the face! From then on it just became a matter of confirming my suspicion with a few experiments -- hence my joining the forum. :d
