Saying Hello

Migrated topic.

Macho Mapacho

Rising Star
Hi everyone, I am a long term lurker and post on the ayahuasca forums regularly as 'Nick has a big cactus', I have talked to a couple of the posters here before and really find there is a lot of great discussion on this site so I have taken the plunge and signed up.

I first got interested in entheogens when mushrooms were legal in the Uk which kickstarted an interest in spiritual and altered states for me, when they were finally criminalized I had a long break from anything and spent a lot of time doing reichian bodywork, tantra and vipassana which I feel gave me a nice background of mindful practices (good soil to grow my garden in).

After the death of a relative I was left with a bit of inheritence and a lot of grief and went to Peru to try ayahuasca, which was a truly pivotal moment in my life and has become my primary path. I have been out to Peru now twice but would really like to go more often if air fare was not so extortionate. I am very interested also in San Pedro, Mapacho, Toe (which i grow) and recently have become interested in yopo. I have never experienced DMT synthetic or extracted but I am very interested in the culture that is developing around it.

By trade I am a martial arts teacher and thai boxer, but since my experience with ayahuasca I have started to train as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist. My main area of interest in terms of spirituality now is old pagan european traditions and I have been getting involved with the black/pagan metal scene which seems like a weird resurgence of that energy.

Cheers everyone

Welcome aboard Macho Mapacho, I think you'll fit in well around here. Shroom season is nearly upon us, get ya-self out there 😁 Sounds very much like you're on a rich spiritual path which you have firmly set about.

I hear you with the air fares, crossing the Atlantic is always a mission (though it's funny how it's cheaper to fly to Scotland from London than it is to take the train, and quicker).

I bet your thai-boxing helps with your spiritualality also, it is an art form I have great respect for. I've never heard of Pagan Metal, I was always more of a Junglist (though my musical horizons are greatly expanded these days).

Nice to have you around the place, see you around the forums mate.

Peace

Macre

Cheers Macre I am also a bit of a junglist myself mainly the stuff from the mid 90s - Arsonist by urban shakedown, congo natty tunes, terrorist, dread base, that kind of thing. I could use a bit of help identifying the liberty caps tbh, bit of a novice with them.
Thanks for the welcome
