SWIM
OG Pioneer
A while back SWIM tried 2 trips.

Swim is medium-high tolerance to most psychedelics.

He took ~4g worth of syrian rue extract. Basic acidified brew. Filtered out tannins w/ gelatin
Then took ~8g worth of acidic mimosa brew, SWIM believe to be quite well extracted.
Waited 1:15 and felt barely a buzz and "knowing it was a bad idea" as he wrote in his tripping notepad. chugged back the rest

It ended up that the trip produced minor visuals, slight slight body high and a very random hallucination of a non-existent insect.

SWIM was enjoying it but after about 3.5 to 4 hours a harsh headache came on and SWIM felt very overwhelmed.

This ended up producing a very open state, which he is greatful for. But SWIM wants to go further like he has with LSD but is scared of the head-pain on overwhelming

It was only after re-reading his notes that he realized he had the exact same problem on some 7 HBWR seeds with 4g of Rue (same batch)

SWIM took the 7 HBWR seeds previously with no ill effect but only got the nasties with rue

(thanks for anyone who read all that, but for those of you who don't want to, start here)

SWIM gets annoyed and often paronoid on marijuana due to the visual focusing effects,
SWIM noticed similar effects on 2 trips:
MHRB brew and syrian rue brew
HBWR seed brew and syrian rue brew

SWIM also got annoying to overwhelming headache/head strain while on those trips

SWIM now has access to pure spice and is confident he could extract some pure Harmine + Harmaline.

SWIM thinks that he should try again but instead of the MHRB brew take some pure DMT acetate. after some pure Harmine crystals
(SWIM heards that harmine is less stoning than harmaline)

anyone think that will work? Without headache or problems? SWIM is still unsure...

rue contains toxins...most people here I am sure will tell you they prefer caapi when used in a brew...
I never brew with syrian rue..only good for extractions that dont extract the toxins, and then I smoke my rue extractions..

Caapi I think is best for brews..

That being said...keep inmind ayahuasca is a healing potion..that PURGES TOXINS from the body...so it's a possability that the headaches you are feeling are a cleansing experience that you need to go through..not saying that is it but it's a possability..same with digestive discomfort after drinking ayahuasca..last time I drank I felt like shit, my stomach hurt and I got nausous..but I felt cleaner the next day..

Pharmahuasca is the way for SWIY!
SWIM tripped yesterday and he had a high dosage 130 mg DMT and 150 mg Syrian Rue extract! Read my report if you like ;)
Totally healthy at any point of the trip.

I believe that your overall nutrition and especially water supply has much to do with your health and general feeling.
Headache could be a sign of bad food/water.

Maybe you just took a substance which does not work well with MAOs!

Just look after some untreated spring water at your local drink supplier or health-food shop and drink that during the trip!

Meh, I love rue.

I get a "brain massage" feeling with aya, like a bunch of ginkgo going to all the right places. Assuming you're talking about pressure and/or sharp pain, what'd you eat on the days you had the trips that resulted in headaches? Even though the MAOI diets out there aren't completely necessary (for the most part anyway, with the RIMAs in S. rue and B. caapi), take a glance and see if something jumps out at you. If not, try following some of the less ridiculous guidelines and try a smaller syrian rue dose, like 1g-2g. If it were me, I'd find what makes the MAOI work without discomfort before adding anything else - to eliminate variables and save product.

Personally, coffee a few hours before or the day after consuming some rue will result in a headache. Guayusa and Mountain Dew don't produce the headache, so I dunno.
