Scraping of residues from evaporation dish?

Migrated topic.

Hi all,

I'm close to finishing the evaporations of an acetone extract of LSA seeds and wanted to know whats the best way of scraping up the dried residue? I'm wary of taking a razor to the awkwardly curved evaporation basin, though if it is the only or most approved method I can be careful / gentle doing so. I do have a curved scalpel for woodworking which hasn't been used, that may work well for it.

Thank you

Sounds about right. Redissolve any remaining, hard-to-scrape crystals and evaporate again in a more favourably shaped container.

Make sure your scalpel is free of grease, is all I can suggest on top of this.

Good shout with the grease, I'd have forgotten about it and they are quite greasy. And thanks for the reassurance, it all scraped up really cleanly and was much easier than anticipated. The curve of the blade was perfect for the bowl, pretty much nothing left at all.
