Seed germinated inside a grapefruit

Jagube

Esteemed member
I cut a grapefruit today and found a seed had germinated inside.
Apparently it's a rare phenomenon and it's called vivipary.

I removed it and planted it in a pot, more for fun than anything else. But we'll see.

I remember reading they actually do come true to seed, unlike most citrus.
You're quite correct! Yet another bout of cognitive flatulence on my part, it's good to be almost exactly completely wrong though. :p
Had the same thing happen couple days ago with a watermelon.
How lucky for you! I had to germinate my watermelon seeds myself. You stand a far better chance of getting any ripe fruit than me as well.
