Al-Wasi
Rising Star
Since I started work with this molecule I've come to realize a few things rather quickly. One should not approach this powerful substance on a whim. This has been stated time and time again but it needs repeated, DMT is not a recreational substance, approaching it as such is not recommended.
I figured I would discuss how I prepare for a journey. I did this last time and plan to do so from now on.
1. Ensure that the time is right.
This is an important one for me personally. If I'm not grounded for the day or something just isn't right I can feel it in the air. I generally like to make sure my emotional state is solid, there are no lingering issues going on and I'm basically content. It is also of paramount importance for me that the space I am in is calm and relaxed. Any tension or possible surprises definitely aren't welcome and will be avoided st all costs. If the time isn't right the journey will be postponed.
2. Setting The Intent
Before I begin anything I ask myself why I am doing this. What do I want to learn or experience? What am I trying to gain ? Is it a new perspective ? A spiritual revelation? Help with a problem ? As I weigh the dose and load the vaporizer I begin setting this intent. Speaking it aloud to confirm it.
3. Calming the mind
After the machine is loaded I sit quietly and breathe deeply trying to put any worldly concerns out of my mind. This is also a good time to further establish my intent. Just prior to taking the first hit I generally speak to the spice and ask it to be nice to me. I ask it for what I want out of the experience and also state that I'm willing to let go and accept wherever it takes me to the best of my ability.
Doing these three things have helped my last few journeys to be way more profound then prior trips. I recommend this method or something similar to anyone having trouble letting go in experiences.
At the end of the day we are feeling with a very powerful substance and things probably won't always go as planned. But after a difficult experience this method has helped me in subsequent journeys.
Ultimately give DMT the respect it deserves.
