don't fuck around with it too much.
After two times recrystallization there is not much need for anything else other than a smoking device and a lighter.
what i am trying to tell you is, smoke some, and then, assess if further purification is in order.
and how do you plan on using everclear?
May i suggest you dissolve your DMT in clean naphtha and do a freeze precipitation, as most of the naphtha is poured off, so you don't end up with other stuff in your product.
no it doesnt work, everclear = IPA, it will dissolve all your dmt AND impurities, and even at freeze temp it wont precipitate. Research more before trying to make substitutions of chemicals, its not all the same
Get yourself some Reagent grade Heptane or Hexane and Re-x your spice with it. You may carefully distill your naphta to get some very clean solvent as well. Couple of times I did carbonate wash I lost ~50% of my spice.

I normaly do an SC wash before re-x. If you have been really careful to keep impities out and it's a nice white colour I dont think there would be any need. Happy travels
Just to add another data point to the discussion, I never wash my product with SC or ammonia after freeze precipitating. I always recrystallize in heptane and I've never noticed any excessive harshness or ill effects. I believe I also read somewhere (can't find the source right now- sorry) that lye will not vaporize at the temps we're using to volatize the spice, so as long as any leftover lye doesn't somehow end up in your throat shock using a product that's not completely pure shouldn't have major negative effects.
Just to be clear, I strongly recommend a re-X or two so that there's very little chance of contamination. A little extra effort can go a long way toward peace of mind and your personal safety should always be of the utmost concern. That said, I don't personally think a SC wash is necessary.
