Soda Washed my spice

I went to wash my spice and when I heated up my naphtha and got everything redissolved there was a thin layer of reddish oil on the bottom of the jar. I mixed my naphtha (about a half cup)with about 1/4 cup of my soda water, agitated and the water/solvent separated pretty quickly but my solvent was still kind of cloudy when I pulled it out within like a minute. I put it in the freezer and just went to look at it after like 20 minutes and now there’s another thin layer of that reddish oil on the bottom of the jar. Was that what was making the solvent cloudy? Did I just pull the solvent off too quick and should’ve let it sit longer for the oil to separate out? Was that reddish oil that sat in the boundary layer plant material or did I throw out some type of spice? Do I wash again?

The reddish oil is most likely liquefied DMT, the best thing is to use slightly more Naptha and get it dissolved completely. Then make the soda wash solution that is at the same temperature or a bit warmer, don’t let things cool down before separating the layers.

This should solve your issue.

Good luck

That’s exactly what I was hoping you wouldn’t say o_O! I washed that red oil out of that other jar and was like this is probably DMT.
